About South Fork Courts

South Fork Courts does one narrow thing for the South Fork of Long Island, Southampton to Montauk: when a property needs a court built, rebuilt, resurfaced, lit or looked after, we find the right builder and put the two of you in touch. We do not pour concrete, spread Har-Tru or teach tennis. We are named for the fork, not for any company on it, and we are not connected to any court builder, tennis club or coaching business that shares a word with our name.

The problem we are for

A tennis court is the most expensive thing on most Hamptons lots after the house and the pool, and it is built by a trade with perhaps a dozen serious companies on Long Island, most of whom you have never heard of. Some are excellent at post-tensioned concrete and have never dressed a clay court; some are Har-Tru specialists who subcontract the fence; one or two do everything and are booked through next spring. The usual way to find them is the neighbour's court, which may be twenty years old and built by a company that no longer exists. We keep track of who builds what surface, in which towns, on what timeline, and whether the court still drains in year five.

How it works

You tell us about the project once: where the lot is, what you want (a new court, a surface, a fix, lights, a pickleball conversion), and when. We put you in touch with one licensed, insured builder who does that work in your town, and they call you within one business day. From there it is their site visit, their quote, their schedule and their warranty. If the job needs a surveyor and the zoning board before a builder, that is a distinction we make before anyone calls you.

What "vetted" means here

Before we send a homeowner to a builder, we check for a current Suffolk County Home Improvement Contractor licence, liability and workers' compensation insurance, local references for the surface in question, and courts of theirs that are still playing well years later. Beyond that we ask the questions a first-time court owner does not: who handles the permit, what happens to the spoil, where the drainage goes, and what the court will need every April.

What it costs

Nothing, for homeowners. Participating builders pay us a referral fee for the introduction. You pay the builder for the work, on their quote, and we do not sell your details to anyone.

About the numbers

Court prices here are quoted one lot at a time and rarely published. We publish 2026 ranges for new courts by surface, resurfacing, lighting, fencing, pickleball conversions and seasonal care, Long Island where a figure exists and national where it does not, and we say where each comes from. When sources disagree we print both. When we could not find a trustworthy figure we say so instead of inventing one.

Who we are

South Fork Courts launched in 2026 and is run from the East End. We are new and we are small. If something on this site is wrong or out of date, email us and we will fix it.
